Message from the Principal
|Igbinedion Secondary School offers far more than a first class education. Igbinedion High School students are presented with the unique opportunities to grow in confidence, to develop their own personalities in a secure, happy environment where they are nurtured to be the best - and above all to aim high and to expect great things.
This institution is located in the heart of the ancient historical Benin Kingdom. Our sprawling buildings and grounds sit majestically and beautifully on 100 acres of land. Benin is itself one of the most renowned places in the history of African civilization. Against this background, our boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 18 cultivate traditional human values.
All our pupils, whether boarding or day students, have the opportunity to be involved in every aspects of daily school life.
The faculty room comprises energetic and committed teachers who ensure that we offer a rich variety of activities, seven days a week, including prep every evening.
In our co-educational environment, girls and boys are achieving excellent results, and participate actively in academic, cultural and sporting activities.
On an adjacent campus, sharing our Governing Council and Bursary, are Igbinedion Montessori Nursery and Primary Schools. This Montessori preparatory school for boys and girls of 3 to 11 years enjoys its own high reputation. Although autonomous , its links with high school are strong.
Every year, these students write our Common Entrance Examination along with students across the country and overseas. Based on their academic performance, they are given special consideration. Parents are encouraged to register their children from birth in view of the demand for places.
As a vigorous, developing community, we encourage the involvement of parents and families as dynamic partners in their childrenís education. The school chapel is the heart of the school community. Parents are invited to attend service regularly as well as plays and concerts.
Above all, Igbinedion School, we believe that education is an exciting and challenging process.
Please visit us and consider yourselves whether your son or daughter could thrive and be happy at Igbinedion School.
