Pupils resident overseas wishing to register with Igbinedion School will be sent a registration form on request. A pupil can be accepted without an interview at the school, but the offer of a vacancy will depend upon receipt of the completed registration form, a satisfactory report from the pupil's present head teacher and two character references.
Each overseas pupil whether a Nigerian national or not, must have an appointed guardian to act in loco parentis for the duration of the pupil's education at Igbinedion School.
SUPERVISION, CARE AND WELFARE
The school is very conscious of its responsibility to act always, as a good parent should. The teaching, care, nursing domestic and administrative staff, offer a service to parents at all times and will always show concern for their children.
All pupils required to abide by a code of behaviour similar to that normally expected within a family where emphasis is given to courtesy, politeness, respect for parents and elders, co-operation, tolerance, kindness, honesty and integrity.
Certain specific requirements are made clear in the school rules, but obviously such rules cannot cover all expectations relating to good behaviour.
A SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP
An Igbinedion education is a successful partnership between the child, the family and the school.
We believe that each individual must be enabled to develop his or her ability to the utmost both intellectually and physically. Individuals must learn social skills, and conduct which will best enable them to play their part as members of society. We believe that the contribution of the home is as important as that of the school, for it is within a partnership between school and home that the best hope for sound learning is to be found.'By their fruits ye shall know them.
